Kralanh primary school was founded by Soluy Loeut, a volunteer English teacher, and Venerable Sun Tha, a Theravada Buddhist monk in Samroang Oddormeanchey province. Kralanh primary school consist of high school students , whom study, room and board here.
The boy pictured above is Buntheun, a Volunteer English teacher and the girl is Botoum, a volunteer English teacher in our center. They are so awesome with their innovative ideas and unique teaching abilities.
We realize that education is important and the key to success but access to quality education is extremely limited in third world countries. Families with limited means do not want to send their children to study in Samroang, because they do not have enough money to support them.
Our motivating driver for myself and the volunteer teachers are seeing children dropping out from school because of poverty and lack of support from some of the students family; as a result our team wanted to be proactive and provide a free facility for students to stay while they are studying high school, support the daily needs ( food, study tools...).
I am Soluy Loeut,. I have been a volunteer English teacher in Kralanh town since 2010. I teach children at the Kralanh primary school. Some of the topics that I teach are general English, basic computer, knowledge about health care, environment, climate etc. .When I initially started to volunteer, it was on a smaller scale and the only school in town. As time progressed, I have been interacting more with students and helping them prepare for the next journey of their lives. Living with the students had enabled me to work with the students individually to help them build core skillsets to prepare them for entrance into universities, attend good schools and obtain employment.
Access to quality education in extremely limited in Kralanh town; so that is the main driver of why we volunteer here. The children are talented, they have their dreams and aspirations, and now I have my kids helping me to teach English because we have more students taking advantage of the education that I am able to provide to them.
- Children from impoverish families around Samroang. These children can stay and study with us to continue and finish their high school studies and readiness for their university study.
- For those who do not want to continue to study after they finish high school; they can continue to study organic farming, engine mechanic etc.
Our current resources today allows us to have enough food to support the kids who will stay with us. We anticipate that we will be able to support 10 kids in 2013 and 2014 in this center.
Our team has mastered the skills of planting rice and other vegetable and the kids will learn organic farming during they stay here during the weekends or holiday from school.
And now what we need to do is:
- build a proper shelter for them to stay and study including rest room facility.
- build a study space for them to do their work and facilitate education discussions;
- library and meditation place for them to read and relax and get refresh again; and
- to dig a pond for them so they have enough water to do their farming during their study.
The cost of the project will be approximately USD5500. We are able to keep these cost low due to free labor from our team.
Thank you for visiting my website and helping spread the word to friends and families to help us to get this done before the kids start to come and study!

Lives that we impact
This is the house, that I, (Soluy), live in Samroang. It's very basic but we need to build a bigger one for ten other people to live as mentioned above.
One of our class is teaching under the villager's house. We offer free, quality, education in the neighborhood.
